dc.description.abstract The article examines the essence and structure of linguistic competence, specifically clar ifying the concepts of competence, professional competence, linguistic competence, professional potential, professional personality, and, as a result, terminological competence. It also analyzes the main factors that constitute its essence. The primary goal of the article is to determine the scientific and methodological foundations for developing students' linguistic competence. The principles of professional training are characterized by the requirements of legal education, which are found to be primarily based on the issue of legal terminological competence. The research findings contribute to deepening the systematic characteristics of legal terminology as a scientific field and studying its connection with other theoretical and applied branches of linguistics. They provide theoretical justifications for the development of legal terminology as an independent field and for clarifying its main scientific categories. The study includes an overview of domestic and international research within the scope of forming terminological competence in teaching legal language. ru
