The use of ionic modification methods is one of the promising methods of directed change of
strength properties of near-surface layers of materials along with such methods as magnetron
sputtering and mechanically induced deformation. Interest in this area of research is primarily
due to the possibility of enhanced resistance of materials to external mechanical and thermal
influences, as well as improved wear resistance of refractory ceramics, which have great
prospects in industrial use and metallurgy and reactor building. This paper presents the
assessment results of the possibility of using the ion modification method by irradiating the nearsurface layer of ZrO2 – Al2O3 ceramics with low-energy Kr15+ and Xe22+ ions with energies of 300
and 440 keV to create a radiation-modified layer in the surface layer that is highly resistant to
external influences. During the studies, it was found that irradiation with fluences of 1014
- 5×1014
ion/cm2
for Xe22+ ions and 1015 ion/cm2
for Kr15+ ions are optimal conditions for modifying the
surface layer, as a result of which growth in wear resistance by 2.0 – 2.5 times and hardening by
more than 15 – 20 % is observed compared to non-irradiated ceramics

TRANSPORT AS A FACTOR IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL TOURISM IN AKTOBE REGION, REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN
OMIRZAKOVA, Miroslava; WENDT, Jan A.
Transport provision is a basic condition for the development of tourism, and in accordance with the country's
development plans, tourism has been recognized as one of the priorities of economic development, including the development
of rural areas. In the context of growing competition for tourists and taking into account the presence of tourist attraction s and
developed tourist infrastructure, the transport accessibility of the regions is becoming increasingly important. Despite the
obvious importance of transport for all sectors of the economy, including tourism, if we take into account the size of the
country, transport conditions for the development of tourism in Kazakhstan, especially rural tourism, have relatively little
reflection in research topics, which was confirmed by literature studies on this topic. Therefore, the aim of the research
undertaken is to analyze the spatial differentiation of the conditions for the development of tourism in Aktobezhsk Oblast in
relation to the location of tourist attractions and transport accessibility. The research material includes data collected on the
basis of field studies conducted in 2023-2024. Statistical data on transport in Aktobezhsk Oblast and its districts come from
the Akimat of Aktobezhsk Oblast from the Department of Passenger Transport and Roads of Aktobezhsk Oblast. All factual
material was verified and supplemented during field research. Using the developed criteria, an assessment of the accessibilit y
of districts of Aktobe region, which have the potential for the development of rural tourism, not only domestic but also
international, was carried out. The transport potential of Aktobe region is significant due to its size and geographical loca tion.
The region is served by rail, road, air and pipeline means of transport. However, the quality and density of transport
infrastructure remain underdeveloped. The underdevelopment of the transport network, as shown by statistical analyses of
road, railway and air infrastructure, strongly confirms the hypothesis that the current transport system, despite the abundan ce
of natural resources, actually limits the tourist accessibility of Aktobe region. Similarly, the conducted classification of the
number of tourist attractions in the Aktobe region, the ranking of counties and the transport accessibility of tourist attrac tions.
In summary, transport infrastructure plays a key role in the development of rural tourism in Aktobe region. Improving the
road network and improving the accessibility of remote areas will help to balance tourist flows and increase the economic
impact of rural tourism development.

This study presents the results of a critical analysis of the existing
methods of selecting the values of ground deformation modulus used in
calculating the settlement of designed foundations. The importance of
improving the reliability of the determination of the modulus of deformation
for ensuring the reliability, economic efficiency and safety of structures is
highlighted. It is revealed that the determination of the deformation modulus
is not performed at the full depth of soil samples, which can lead to the risk
of accidents at facilities. To increase the reliability of deformation modulus
determination, a method of interpolation of values based on data from
nearby wells is proposed. A new model for determining intermediate values
of the deformation modulus is presented, which can be used in calculating
the settlement of designed buildings. The results of test problems confirm
the high efficiency of the proposed method not only for the calculation of
foundation settlement using the values of ground deformation modulus, but
also for the control determination of refined values of ground deformation
modulus at the stage of geotechnical engineering surveys.

Dmitriyev, P.S.; Fomin, I.A.; Teslenok, S.A.; Berdenov, Zh.G.; Safarov, R.Z.
The materials of the publication reflect the importance of using
geoinformation technologies for predicting ravines in the territory of the North
Kazakhstan region. For the study, a section of the A16 Petropavlovsk-Zhezkazgan
highway was chosen, where dozens of ravines with different growth rates are
located. Satellite images for 2003, 2016, and 2019 were used for monitoring.
A feature of the images is their detail and accuracy, which makes it possible to
analyze the features of the structure and determine the dynamics of growth and
the coordinates of the ravines. The calculations were made using the Google Earth
program. To determine the dynamics and forecast of ravine erosion, the growth rate
of the tops of ravines was determined according to the generally accepted method.
Based on this technique, a model for predicting the growth rate of ravines in the
Microsoft Excel program was developed. After entering the indicators in the Excel
table, the model calculates the growth rate of the ravine and gives a forecast for the next 30 years. The model was developed for natural ravines, the calculations
present data typical for the North Kazakhstan region. The accuracy of the model
depends on many factors. These are soil density, coefficient of erosion resistance
of soils, amount of precipitation, and presence of vegetation cover. The result of
the calculation obtained by the developed model is visualized as a sinusoid of the
growth of ravines for the studied and predicted period. The used geoinformation
technologies make it possible to carry out complex monitoring studies of ravines
to predict their dynamics within the boundaries of the North Kazakhstan region.
