This article explores how digital technologies are transforming Kazakhstan’s tourism
industry, enhancing service quality, accessibility, and sustainability while positioning the country
as a competitive global destination. Contributing 3-5% to GDP with a projected rise to 6-8% by
2030, tourism drives economic diversification and job creation in Kazakhstan, supported by
government initiatives like Tourism 2025 and digital platforms such as e-Qonaq. The study details
the adoption of tools like online booking systems (e.g., Booking.com), electronic visas, AI-driven
chatbots, and virtual reality tours, which streamline travel planning, improve customer
experiences, and attract foreign visitors to sites like Charyn Canyon and Almaty. Big data and
smart tourism solutions regulate visitor flows, promoting eco-friendly travel and supporting local
communities. Despite these advances, challenges such as rural internet access and cybersecurity
risks remain, requiring further infrastructure investment and training. Drawing on sources like the
Ministry of Tourism and Sports and WTTC reports, the article underscores Kazakhstan’s digital
evolution as a model for balancing growth with conservation. It concludes that continued
innovation could redefine tourism in Central Asia, blending Kazakhstan’s rich heritage with
cutting-edge technology.
